To honor that legacy, the Jimmy Pappas Memorial Shoot was formed, hosting an annual charity sporting clay shoot benefiting organizations that provide support for cancer patients and their families.

The Jimmy Pappas Memorial Shoot is an annual charity sporting clay shoot and contest accompanied by dinner and both live and silent auctions. All funds benefit The Sunshine Kids Foundation and CanCare, organizations that provide support for patients suffering from cancer-related illnesses and their families.

Sunshine Kids Foundation
The Sunshine Kids Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer. The Foundation is committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients. In addition, the Foundation provides various programs and events throughout the year for kids who are receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America.
CanCare
CanCare is the only interfaith nonprofit organization in Houston where highly trained cancer survivors provide free, one-on-one emotional support to cancer patients and their caregivers for an unlimited amount of time. Since 1990 CanCare survivor volunteers, who have been diagnosed with more than 75 different cancer types, have provided support to more than 22,000 patients and their caregivers.
